Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Eagle’s Earth Healing Centre Director, the Cook & Housekeeper will be responsible for cooking and planning nutritional & balanced meals and fulfilling basic housekeeping duties to ensure comfort, and safety to its residents.
Position length: Permanent, Full-time
Qualifications/Requirements:
•Diploma/Certificate in hospitality, and Culinary Certificate would be an asset.
•Cooking & Housekeeping: 1+ year experience in a residential setting or facility.
•Safe Food Handling certificate or willing to obtain.
•Excellent customer service, communication, teamwork, and adaptability.
•Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
•High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
•Standard First Aid and CPR, or willing to obtain.
•Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
•Criminal/vulnerable reference check required.
•Willing to undergo drug/alcohol test.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Prepare, cook, and serve meals and snacks for residents and staff, (groups or on-site programming when needed) meeting dietary requirements where required (willingness to prepare weekend meals when needed in residential treatment program).
•Inventory of all food, supplies and equipment, assist in ordering for the facility.
•Maintain sanitary conditions, adhere to all guidelines, requirements, sanitation procedures and the safe operation, care, use, and cleaning of kitchen and equipment.
•Restocking supplies, ensure that all necessary supplies, such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning products, are adequately stocked.
•Follow strict protocols to prevent the spread of infections, including the use of appropriate cleaning agents and personal protective equipment.
•Housekeeping duties entail cleanliness of single dwelling residential cabins.
•Perform a variety of basic cleaning activities such as change of linens, vacuuming, sweeping, emptying trash cans, dusting, cleaning of windows, and mopping floors.
